~~Weekend Update~~

Holy cow, where did the last 4 days go. I can't believe it is Sunday night again. Time for the salt mines!! Neither of the boys have school tomorrow and Drake has no school Tues or Wed, makes ya wonder why there is so many kids that don't learn anything, they are never in school. I think Drake will go 12 days for the month of December and Gunner will go 14, kinda makes ya go "HUH"!

Didn't do much this weekend, but did get a few things crossed off my list. Let's see the tree is up, with lights (of course they come on the tree HEHEHE) and it has some candy cane ornaments on it so for. So need to finish decorating it, hang some stockings and figure out what other lights inside to hang up. Lights, candy canes and chubby snowman are up outside. Started christmas letter, but did not get a picture yet, there is still time for that.

Watched the civil war game. Beaver fans "OUCH!!", although it was sad to see their Rose Bowl opportunity go down the drain. Atleast both teams will still be going to a bowl game.

Did not get any scrapbooking or pictures organized. I hoped that if I did I would have time to scrapbook. The only thing I managed to do was move it back to my room in totes. Looks like that is where it will be until after the holidays.

Did get my grocery shopping done (OUCH -- food is expensive) and the house is clean and the laundry is almost caught up.

I think that was just about everything I wanted to accomplish. Did stroll the mall today, didn't buy anything, but have some ideas for christmas presents, now I will shop/compare online and see what kind of deals I can find.

Hey Missy, funny you should mention the Twilight book. I picked it up at Walgreens on Saturday and started it last night. I have ordered the next 2 and still need to get the 4th. Figured I would get on the bandwagon and see what all the hype was about......

Civil War and a house divided.

Oregon State Beavers VS Oregon Ducks....who is going to win. We will be watching the game and we are a house divided (but aren't they sooo cute!!)

Drake and I are the Duck fans. GO DUCKS!!!
Mark and Gunner are the Beaver fans. GO BEAVS!!!! I will cheer for both and the ONLY reason I would cheer for the Beavers to win is because it would be nice to see them go to the Rose Bowl. I know makes me sound like a not very dedicated Duck fan, but ya know it is an Oregon team and we need to be represented.

Black Friday Shopping...

Shopaholics Unite!!!

All I can say is "EEEOOOWWWW", I will NOT be one them and more power to all of you that go out, brave the crowds, the lines, the parking lots!! There was NOTHING (except maybe a Kitchenaid mixer) that I want or need bad enough to go out in those crowds. But, I do need groceries, may have to venture to Safeway..

So to motivate me for the weekend, I thought maybe if I posted what I wanted to accomplish, maybe I would actually get some of it done, because it is in writing.

Let's see, where to start......
#1 -- put up christmas tree (fake) and decorate
#2 -- start to write christmas letter (then it might actually get done and set out this year)
#3 -- take picture for christmas card (same explanation)
#4 -- hang up outside christmas lights (see a pattern or theme!)
#5 -- watch Civil War (GO DUCKS!)
#6 -- organize pictures and scrapbook supplies
#7 -- do laundry and clean up house (UGGH!!)
#8 -- maybe do a little cyber shopping, oh wait, I can do that at work on Monday :D (not like there will be much else to do!)

That should get me thru the weekend!! Hope everyone had a great turkey day and didn't eat too much. It was a very laid back day for us, didn't make it to Michelle's was bummed about that, but it is now VERY quiet at my house, everyone is in bed. I am usually not a late night person, but tonight I think I will go read for awhile and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Been gone awhile.......bad blogger....

Ok first, no sports and I seem to have nothing to talk about. Actually I did have some thoughts of things to post, but just have not had time and I am really going to try to stay positive and not be cranky, but things at getting really trying at work. BUT it is the holiday, so it is time to be thankful.

I am thankful for my family (immediate and then the rest that are still speaking to me), I am thankful for my friends and that I can enjoy both. As hard as it is right, with the economy and all the uncertainty, do remember to be thankful for what you have. We always want more, think we need more, but really, stop and look at what you have and be thankful for it. We have warm homes, food on our table, so far, jobs to go to, family/friends and we are breathing and healthy.

Enough serious for now. Here are a few thanksgiving chuckles. Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday. Don't eat too much turkey and watch too much football.

Also, for anyone crazy enough to go shopping on Friday. BE CAREFUL!! (and if you see a kitchenaid mixer for $130.00 at Walmart, pick me up one!)

Ok, well, not much anyways. It was a pretty quiet weekend, went shopping on Saturday with Kim in Salem. Was a very nice, relaxing, enjoyable trip. Although we did eat WAY too many carbs at Olive Garden, but man was it good!!! mmmmmm, pasta!!!!

BUT, because we ate WAYYY to much pasta, we did not have any room for Coldstone or any other yummmy treat. Although, tell me again Kim, how was the "cheap" truffle?! :D

Then on Sunday, spent a lazy morning doing a whole lotta nuttin!! Mark and Gunner went duck hunting, but didn't see anything. Then we went to the movies with LeeAnn and Destiny to see Madagascar 2
Ok, nothing else new, everyone reading probably wishes basketball will start so I have something to talk about!!! HEHEHEHE

Ahhh, Monday, Monday...

Gotta LOVE a 3 day weekend!!

Took today off (to use the last of my unscheduled PTO time) to spend the day with the boys and what happens? Drake runs off to a friends, I'm starting to feel like he doesn't love me :D j/k! They had no school today and no school tomorrow. Are they ever in school!?? Tomorrow they are going to BOTH spend the day with Grandma Harrison.

Today was just G and me, we both slept in until about 9:00, very refreshing, then went and got coffees and headed to Albany. Called Grandma Mac and she went shopping with us. Had a few needs we had to get. Ended up scoring on them. Went to Famous Footwear and all their shoes are buy one get one 1/2 off. Normally I can never find anything and I think their shoes are too expensive. Found some LA Gear on sale for 19.99, had sizes for, hopefully, both of them. Got up to the register and they didn't ring up right, someone had switched the tags but he gave them to me for the 19.99. Ended up getting both pairs for 29.99 with the 1/2 off BARGAIN!!! (they were regularly 39.99 each!!)

Then needed to find new backpacks. The ones the boys got for school were cheap and they don't like that style. After looking at several, ranging in price from 24.99 and up, and I wasn't going to pay that. We went to ROSS, I found a blue camo Rebock brand, on clearance for $6.49 and then a different brand on clearance for Gunner for $14.99...BARGAIN!!!!!! I was SOOO darn happy!!!

Ended up at Costco and didn't do so bad there either, got Mark 2 flannel shirts for 12.00 each and then some other stuff. I think, sadly, I was most excited about 2 gallons of milk for $4 something (we drink ALOT of milk!)

Of course, what did I buy for myself, nothing!!!! But I did end up with a bottle of lotion from Bath and Body works, THANK YOU!!!

It was a nice day!! unfortunately it is back to the salt mines tomorrow!!!

Its Over............

Well, I don't know if it is good or bad, but football is over. All that is left is the end of season pizza and turning in the gear. It is kinda bittersweet, no more practices or worrying about getting him there on time, no more Sunday games, but then again, I did kinda look forward to the games >SIGH<

Last night was their final game. Not sure what happened to our team, but it seems like once regular season was over, we fell apart. Needless to say, we lost last night 7-18. Drake had an ok game, he qb'd in the first quarter and that was when they scored the touchdown. He had a couple good hits on defense. He almost had an interception, but instead was called for pass interference, oops!. On defense, not much came his way. In the 2nd half, the offense has about 3 fumbles and then 2 interceptions, not good! One of the interceptions, we were on the 9, had a 1st down and about 1:30 left in the game. That interception turned into a touchdown the other way........

It was a good season overall for Drake, I think he learned alot, he enjoyed playing and is already looking forward to next year. I think I survived enough to say yes to next year. Even with playing QB, he only took one really hard/bad hit this season and it was from his own player, go figure.

Thanks to everyone who came and watched, they are pretty fun to watch. Sorry for those who missed out, again, they were pretty fun to watch.

Now it is on to basketball, they are both playing and I believe practices start the first week of December, a couple week break. During that time, if the rain keeps coming in, then the boys will hopefully get some duck hunting in.

Well, the house is quiet, I am alone again :D, so off to stoke the fire, and find my book.

A New Day...

Today is a new day!! I was going to try to be positive for the month and since it is Thanksgiving and I feel a month to truly think about all the things we are thankful for.

My first list of things was, I am thankful for Friday, I am thankful for football being almost over, I am thankful for peace and quiet on a Saturday morning. That is not what I really need to be focused on. My family healty and well, a home to go to, food on my table and as much as I am doubting it at the moment, I am thankful (a little) I have a job. In all the doom and gloom of the media and life in general, I do think we need to step and remember the things we are truly thankful and grateful for. Yes, I will still be thankful when Friday comes, who isn't?!, but I also need to remember to step and look at the bigger picture...

SO, take some time to stop and think about what you are thankful for, even post a comment of what you are thankful for......

Motivational Message

Ok, I have now officially become one of those whiny, cranky people that I have been complaining about. Each week when Friday comes I am all WAHOOO!! it's Friday, and each week I think, WOW, how could this week be any worse than last week. Well, I am here to tell you, that, yes, this week was THE worst week!!! Everyday at work no one wanted to open their emails because each day it was something bad. I won't really go into details. At this point I do still have a job (I think that that is good!), but let's just say it is for less money and soon to be another company. (Can you say merger, buyout....)

SOOOO, my dear friend Mary Jo (who really now needs to give me directions to her happy place), sent me this motivitional message this afternoon and it just fit, and now I am sharing :D

Election Day 2008

Us Oregonians should already have our ballots in, otherwise you have to drop them off at the elections office (We turned ours in last week). Don't forget!

THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY of ELECTION DAY (my views)

The Good -- no more of those darn commercials and mailers in the mailbox, I am soo sick of all the political crap being shown, mailed, etc

The Bad -- well, all that will be on TV tonight will election coverage, nothing good to watch

The Ugly -- actually I am not going to comment on this, I don't want to get political, but after today it will yet be seen just how ugly it might get!!

Remember, if you don't vote then you have nothing to complain about :D

MUD FEST

Yes, football is played in ANY kind of weather. Here I was saying the other day, we had went all season without a rainy, muddy game. (The only other kinda rainy game we played in Corvallis on turf). Well, Lebanon does not have a turf field, especially at 7-Oaks. Two plays into the game and Drake was mud head to toe. It was a really good game to watch, our defense was awesome. Drake had some great hits, wish he would have been hitting like that all season!! He even recovered a fumble, great hustle! Although he was hit pretty hard on one play and was very SLOW getting up, he was hit by his own player (It was a great hit thought, just needed to be one of their players)!! His ribs are a little sore today :D

Offensively, we just couldn't get it done. Drake threw one pass, but it was incomplete. We would have great field position, but just could not get it in. We did have one across, but there was a flag and it was called back.

Needless to say, at the end of regulation, we were tied, in overtime the other team scored and on our possession on our 3rd down there was a fumble, they recovered, game over. I felt so bad for our boys, they played really hard.

Of course this was the one game I took NO pictures, didn't really want my camera in the rain. Yes, it rained, it poured, it was soggy and muddy!!!!

We have one more game left, next Saturday at Truax (next to Reser), no Reser stadium for us, but the game is at 7:00 P.M. and that is the FINAL game of the season. If anyone wants to come watch there is an admission fee of $5:00 per person

~~Weekend In Review!~~

I can not believe it is already the November 3rd, I have no idea where this year went, oh wait, yes I do, many, many, many baseball fields (all over the state) and footbal fields!!!

Well Halloween was kinda a bust this year, Gunner stayed home to pass out candy and we only have about 30-40 kids and they were done by 8:00 P.M., there was a time when we had over a 100 in a little over an hour!! Now I have all this extra candy and I don't need it! I am sure the boys will help with it!

Angela and Emma stopped by. Emma was dressed up as Piglet. She is so darn adorable, and has grown soo much. I just wanted to hold her and cuddle with her. She is sooo cute!!!!!!

Drake went to the Lebanon football game Friday night, not a good game to watch I guess, and then he stayed with a friend. Mark and Gunner went hunting again ALL day on Saturday (AHHHHH PEACE!), so I picked Drake up for noon football practice and then bought groceries while I was waiting for him. Then he was invited to the OSU game with one of his teammates, and he went. Mark and Gunner got home about 7 ish, so I had a little more time to myself. A person could get used to that!!!
