I SURVIVED!!!

Fair is over, Baseball is over, Vacation can begin.........

Gunner is all done with fair, piggie is back to the Land Lab, need to deal with her when we get back from vacation. Gunner is really tired, but it was a good experience and he had fun. He also ended up taking 7th in Livestock judging, but honestly, don't know what that really means.

Drake's baseball team ended up in 2nd Place, we lost to Battleground, WA. So we took 2nd in the tourney, but we are sticking with, #1 in the State of Oregon. We figured Drake caught about 48 innings in 4 days. That's alot of baseball!! Our team was also awarded the Sportsmanship Trophy. Quite Frankly I am almost more proud of that than the 2nd place trophy, that shows alot of heart and integrity from our boys. (It was voted on by the umpires, JBO officials and the Keizer people who hosted the tourney).

Busy, Busy weekend, but a good one. I know I need to post pics and I have ALOT (gave Missy one of my cameras :D) of pictures, but I am kinda dragging butt at the moment, so it might have to wait until after vacation.............

OH MY GOD....

Someone has been seriously praying to the baseball gods!! Drake's team won both games today (2-1 over McKay, THAT was sweet! and 8-2 over West Linn). We play again tomorrow at 10:00, if we win, we play in the championship game. The awesome thing is, we are the ONLY Oregon team left in the tournament. We play Camas, WA in the morning and Battleground, WA, is already in the championship. Let's keep things a rolling!!

Quick Update, and sorry no pictures yet, not time......


Gunner had showmanship last night at the Fair for his pig and I was able to be there. I was really nervous for him, especially after I saw the first class go, it is some pretty serious stuff. It was kinda comical when all the pigs run in the ring, they kinda spaz out. One came in and there is not alot of traction and he kinds "spun out/wiped out" in front of the judge. Another pig came in and wiped out one of the younger boys in the class, knocked him flat to the ground. I felt bad for him, but he jumped up and the judge helped brush the sawdust off. Gunner did really good, the judge was watching him alot. He ended up taking 3rd (out of 7) which was awesome. He needed a little more "tenacity", per the judge, but there was not much difference between 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. I thought for his first time, he should be really proud, I was!!!

Drake's baseball team won at noon yesterday, 7-0 and then played again at 6:00 and beat Sherwood 18-9. I guess it was a really good game and our team hit 5 home runs. Drake had a couple base hits, which resulted in RBI's, will take those all day! Very Very,VERY proud of the boys!! We play again at noon today in Keizer and if win, play at 6:00 tonight.

A Day in My Life......

I got woke up this morning by Mark kicking my leg telling me it is 5:00 A.M., Really, Already!! I jsut went to sleep......ARGHH

SO, rolled out of bed, pulled on the clothes I wore yesterday (later when I got home, realized my shirt was on inside out OOPS!!), and woke up Gunner. He groggily got out of bed and we headed for the Fairgrounds in Albany, he had to be there by 6:00 A.M., yes I said AM, did you know the sun is out at that time?.......

Got him dropped off and headed back to Lebanon, I knew we were heading for Salem and had to go get gas in the car. Did you know that. even at Safeway, at 6:30 in the morning, when you fill your tank, they won't wash your windows. Whats up with that? What happened to customer service??? SHEESH!!! N-E-Ways, tank full, headed for home.

Mark and Drake were still in bed, so had about 20 minutes of peace and quiet, so I finished my book so I could take it to Lisa and then headed for the shower.

After my shower I was walking out the door at 7:45 A.M. (Yes, I had the day off, this is a vacation day, WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!) Headed to the concession stand at Bob Smith. Silly me volunteered to open it up and get things started and set up this morning AND to work it until we had to leave for Keizer.....Thank You Tina C. for having the same Starbucks habit I have and bringing me one, you are a lifesaver!

Left Bob Smith at 9:45, yes still morning....and we headed up to Keizer. Drake's first game was at Noon, they won 12-8. Left the field and had about 3 hours to kill. Went and ate lunch and then went driving thru Salem looking for a barber, Mark and Drake decided they needed haircuts. Found this little hole in the wall barber shop and got that taken care (looks pretty good too!)

Headed back to Keizer, had a 6:00 P.M. game and had to be there at 5:00, HOLY MOTHER OF PEARL, it was hot out there!! Felt bad for the boys, especially when Drake took a wiffle ball in the nose and ended up with a bloody nose. We lost that game 2-4, but it was a good game and it is possible that other team could be there until the end. (Drake got a base hit and stole home on a passed ball YEAH DRAKE - He plays tomorrow at Noon and if win,then again at 6:00 P.M. again.

While all this was going on, Gunner was at the fairgrounds with pig detail. He showed her at 6:00 P.M. and took 4th place Blue (out of 12 and not sure what blue means). I am really, really proud of him. His pig did not make weight, so she can't be auctioned, but he still needed to show her and he did good!! (he shows again tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. at Linn County Fair) He has to be up and back at the fairgrounds by 6 tomorrow morning (wow six must be lucky everything is happening at 6 in the morning or 6 at night, ok I digress!) Since we didn't know when we would be home or play tomorrow, he is at Grandma H's tonight (THANK YOU GRANDMA H for your help!! Appreciate it)

Back on track here.........After stopping at DQ for Blizzards (and chicken strips for Drake), we pull in our driveway at 9:00 P.M. Just in time to wash baseball gear and head to bed so we can do it all over again tomorrow!!!

I don't have any pics on this post, I am tired, going to bed and don't feel like looking for any, BUT I would NOT trade it for anything, love my boys!!!!! and sometime in the next week or so, I will post some pics, right now just trying to get thru the weekend!!

Weekend Update....

Wow, I am not even sure where to begin, I feel like my head is going to explode with everything that is going on!! I guess I will start with Sunday and work my way backwards, sorta.....

Gunner made it home from his Alaska Adventure. I didn't realize how much I missed the little (ok, not so little anymore) shit! He looked so grown up in the airport! No real problems or mishaps on his flight home. He did say that Anchorage airport is kinda confusing and really boring and he did call me about an hour before his flight was to board. Evidently there was a bag left unattended and there was an annoucement that the airport was going to be evacuated, but thankfully that was called off before they actually evacuated. Gunner said if they would have been evacuated it would have been atleast a 2 hour delay for his flight home. Glad that didn't happen!! So he made it home and now has to focus his attention on Fair. Not sure how much his pig weighs, but I sure hope she makes the 220 lb mark, I don't really want to have to pay for butchering after everything else I have paid for (although a freezer full of pork would be nice!). Hopefully I will be able to see him "show" her and get some pictures.

Too add further chaos to an already chaotic week, Drake's baseball team is going to the State Tournament. As it ended up, we were the 2nd Seed (should have been first, but ya know, shit happens, long explanation). Ended up with a record of 15-3 league and 24-9 total, not too shabby! Their first game is Noon on Thursday, in Keizer, and then when they play from there depends on if they win or lose. They will play Friday for sure (which we were originally supposed to leave on Friday for vacation HA!!) Will post updates as I can, either here or some of the other mom's will post on facebook as well.

We did have a chance to do a little recreating, had free tickets to the Corvallis Knights game on Saturday. What a beautiful evening for a baseball game. I must be weird, but I enjoy going and watching. It was OSU Alumni something or other, so Benny the Beaver was there and Drake got to shake hands with him (and Drake is a Duck Fan no less). Knights won, it was a good game (hopefully things will settle down and we can go to 1 or 2 more).

AHHHHH....Refreshing...

I know I was one of those people that was really sick of the rain and really wanted the sun and really wanted it to be summer, but REALLY, did we have to got to a 100 degree day with no warm up or preparation??!!!

Well, not sure how I managed it, but I left work at 1:00 today and took Drake and Dylan over to Otter Beach in Corvallis. All I can say is, does no one work anymore?? Holy Cow it was soo crowded. We got there about 1:20 and had to stand in line for about 15 minutes and then when we got in, there were, obviously, no chairs and very little cement left that was not covered by a towel, chair or body. Well we did find a little spot and the boys spent some time in the water (I read a book and if I could have got comfortable, I would have taken a nap!). I think the boys had fun, there was lots to "see", somethings are just not meant to be seen (man boobs are just wrong!). There were lots of people, but very little clothes, have not seen that many bikinis in one place. It was kinda fun to people watch. I am sure what I "saw" and what the boy's "saw" were viewed differently. When I was teasing them about all the girls, I am not sure if they were blushing or got some sun on their cheeks :D.After swimming we had to stop at ColdStone and get some ice cream. I think it made for a very enjoyable afternoon. Wish every day could be like that!!

A little Peace and Quiet....

What a nice peaceful weekend....did not answer texts or calls (except Gunner sorry peeps), did not have netbook so no email or facebook, no drama, no expections, no bullshit :D. Mark, Drake and I went to Central Oregon camping. We stayed where we ususally camp for deer hunting. Drake and Mark went up the canyon and fished the Little Deschutes, just the two of them. I had to :D stay at camp and watch the dogs. I managed to finish a book, read 3 more and start a forth (have not done THAT in a lonnggg time). I also read about 4 magazines and worked on my tan. It was a really relaxing time. The only bad parts were, all the dust and I could have done without the mosquitos!! I was even too lazy to take any pictures. We did come Sunday afternoon, things do to, people to see. Drake has a baseball game tonight (and tomorrow and Thursday) and we need to get some laundry done and groceries bought, all that fun stuff.

The next couple weeks will be busy, busy!! Drake finishes up league play this week (and there is a stupid football meeting this week, how can I think about football already!), looks like his team is going to State Tourney......Gunner comes home on Sunday and then the next weekened is Linn County Fair (hope his pig makes weight) and State Tourney, whewwww I am tired just thinking about it!! But then, we are on vacation for week, with no where to be and nothing to be done (well except a whole lot of fishing and camping) WAHHOOOO!! Can't wait.
