Like an episode of Where's Waldo? hahahaha.........
My sister and I have become quite close in the last year. Which makes me extremely happy! And being sisters, we are WAY more alike then we would like to admit!
We think alike. Like the same foods. Have most of the same hobbies. Love a good bargain! (sometimes will buy the same greeting card in a totally different store!)
So Saturday morning goes like this............(we text each other alot....it doesn't really matter who the text is from because we both think the same!)............"Good morning"................"have you walked yet?"..........."yes, just finishing up" (this one is actually my sister cause I have rebelled and taken a week off)........."can't wait to have my coffee"........."what are your plans today?"..........."we could sort thru pictures"..........."or read".........."or go to St. Vinney's and the Goodwill."..............."and the fruit stand"................"ok, I'm easy" (that could be either one of us, lol).........."well I need to shower still"............."me too".........."but I don't want to do my hair or makeup"..............."me either, so we will get "semi" ready.".............ok, see you soon...." (THIS WAS ALL DONE WHILE WALKING BY THE WAY!! When you walk alone, it makes the time go much much faster, but I don't walk as fast while texting)

And in the mean time we had a 5 hour power outage so why not go shopping!
Another weird quirk we have in common.............the way we try on clothes at Vinney's and the Goodwill.............right in the middle of the store...........over our existing clothes..........She did end up buying this shirt.......but at this moment she was trying it on!
Got some great bargain!
And I thought it was funny (I think she was laughing too?) that I took pictures of her everywhere we went (weird quirk)...........Now we are at the fruit stand! That's and enjoyable place.

And I found her wandering around the Goodwill in this shirt to show me....hahahhaaa. We are weird!

Prior to going to Albany, I stopped by Grandma Jane's new shop Nemo's (on main street in Lebanon, carry sports wear type clothes) that is opening Tuesday and just "HAD" to pick up a few things for myself. Well I bought a pair of flips flops and I just have to say....I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THEM!!!,
they are THE most comfortable flips flops!!! Everyone needs a pair. Don't now if you can tell in the pic, but they are a waffle/memory type and soooooo comfortable!!! LOVE THEM!!!

It was a good day, had fun shopping, got some bargains and I also bought a rain jacket at Nemo's, since I don't seem to have one that fits and I need it daily. I am just hoping that now that I have one, I won't need it, but afraid I will need it for baseball this week :(........

Zoo, in the rain, really??

Again, what was I thinking???? Not really sure sometimes how I get myself into these things.......

Thursday was the 7th grade field trip to the Zoo. I merrily signed the permission slip and sent in my money, good to go, then the mom of one of drake's friend said she was going and why didn't I go too, we could ride together. Well a month ago that sounded like a great plan!! (Dylan and Drake)
Then Thursday comes and the sucky weather forcast, but what do you do? off to the zoo we go. We check in at the school, get our list of kids and supposed to be off we go. Evidently Drake's homeroom class has several parents, so my group was really tough, it was Drake :D Lisa wasn't so lucky, she had Dylan and four other kids (We stayed with her and helped keep the kids together).
Not sure why they picked the zoo for 7th graders, it was chaos and there were sooo many little kids there. Our groups kinda buzzed thru pretty quickly, but saw some bears, the elephants and an iguana, Alot of the animals were not out.

Oh and some monkeys
(wait those are our boys, hehehehehe)
It was dry for the first 1/2 and then started sprinkling and then started pouring. By the time we were done, everyone was soaked. Not sure what I was thinking, I had no raincoat, umbrella or even a sweatshirt/jacket with a hood, uh, duh, I live in Oregon, should have known better, but hey, atleast I wasn't at work!!!
Dylan hates to have his picture taken, so I had him cornered, I was determined to get one :D
and then there is Drake, just being Drake.........
But it was a good day! Glad I went, even though it rained/poured and we were soaking wet.....

Installation....

At the beginning of the school year, Gunner and I had a discussion about him being more involved in FFA and other school functions. When it was time for the officer applications/nominations for FFA, he decided he wanted to do that. He had to fill out a several page/question application and even sit thru an interview with the FFA Alumni. Tuesday was the annual FFA Awards/Installation Banquet, Gunner did not get the original post he was after, but he did get Student Advisor.

Here are the new officers, each getting introduced and a description of their duties.
They are now officially sworn in, and if you can't tell or didn't notice in the pictures, ummm, Mr. Gunner is the only boy, that ought to be a fun retreat in the fall!!!
It was a good banquet, there were alot of awards given out, dinner was awesome, it was tri tip steak and it was soo yummy!! (I even had a piece of chocolate cake after, bad girl!!)
After the awards, there was an auction to raise money for the alumni. Well, let's just say that Gunner got a little bit of auction fever!! He now has a guided duck/goose hunt to go on this fall........

What were we thinking.......

Sometimes what starts out as a really crazy idea, becomes something that isn't really soo bad. Over the last few years my sister has made some lifestyle changes and changed her eating habits, exercised and all that good stuff. Well, I decided last fall to do the same. I have been exercising about 6 days a week and most of it is walking, but I have incorporated in some jogging. One day we were bs'ing and started throwing out all these crazy ideas and something was mentioned about doing a 5k. Well it all sounds like a good idea when your talking about!! Then I heard about the Cheadle Lake 5k Fun Run/Walk in Lebanon. Next thing you know I am texting Missy (because who actually uses a phone to make a phone call anymore HAHAHA!) and asking if she was in....She said "YES", well OH SHIT, now we are committed. So instead of working, like I was supposed to be, I signed us up. Next thing ya know we have the boys and Nicole signed up as well. Let me tell ya, hearing 5k sound pretty daunting, until you realize it is just over 3 miles and I walk an average of 3.5 almost everynight.

We had something to look forward to, heaven knows we didn't train for it, and we had several texts back and forth about what to wear (Was really disappointed to see the rain!!)

Finally the BIG day arrives and it's raining!! But never fear, we are dressed and ready to roll!!! Of course we have to take pictures of everything, so these are the pre-pre-race pictures at home......

Look Missy, I am happy to be up early on a Saturday, in the rain, to walk a 5K :
Off to the Races (HEHEHEHE), we get registered and wait(in the car) for it to start.
Of course we had to entertain ourselves, so we took more pictures....


It didn't start to rain until we start walking, and then for a little bit it was really coming down. Drake and Nicole ran the whole thing, and then Gunner decided to run it too, here they are passing us coming back up the path.

They all finished well, I was pleased that Missy and I did not finish at the back of the pack, we came in 125 and 126 respectively, we even finished by jogging across the finish line.

Nicole Mary Harrison, hehehehe, took 1st place in her age, YEAH NICOLE!
It was a really good time, really good exercise, fun to do and bond with the kids. We got all done and the kids were already asking if we were going it again next year!!!!! and of course we said YES!
Missy and I are pretty darn proud of our shirts and will wear them proudly.
Of course, we get home and what happens, the 3 kids leave us, bye, there they go!!! I guess we had our bonding moment while it lasted............

P.S. Yes, for the record, we were there for the race, but we like lots of pictures :D

Spring??

Really, is it Springtime yet? The calander says April, I think we have had the official start of spring, but looking outside at the weather makes me think other things.....(Friday morning my car window was frozen for heaven sakes!)

Mr. Weatherman had said we were going to have a break in the weather, I got a bug up my behind and decided I need to take advangtage of it and plant some flowers. Well, it may be April and it may be springtime, but it really is too early to much planting, but Gunner and I accomplished a few things.

Off to Walmart we headed...(ended up at Home Depot in Albany LOL) and this is what we ended up with (Also on the way back to Lebanon, Gunner got called to work, so I ended up starting by myself!!)

My flower beds are in pretty sad shape from being neglected for the last couple of years. We did plant about 90 blubs down the side of the house, when they come up and bloom it will be really pretty. We planted lilies, glads and some dahilias.

I wnated my flower bed around my tree a little higher so we added another round of bricks, some potting soil and flowers, I think it looks much better.

Most of what we ended up planting was just in pots, still a little too cold for the ground, but the color looks really pretty.

I discovered our birdbath had a crack in it so it would not hold water, well I jsut fixed that and now it holds pansies, I was pleased with how it turned out.
I also potted some tulips that would look really nice on my non-existent front deck SIGH, maybe this summer it will happen!!!(the deck not the flowers blooming)
It was a good day, anxious for the spring to really arrive so I can plant more in my front flower bed, get some more color out there and then put some bark dust down.
(I love Gerbera Daisies!)

I gotta tell ya though, I must be getting old...Even with all the exercise I have been doing, walking/elliptical, you definitely use different muscles when you garden. My legs are soo sore yesterday and today (Of course I tried to walk it out last night by walking 4.5 miles w/Missy and Nicole and today I am in 4 1/2 in heels!!)but it will be worth it when I have all those pretty flowers in bloom!

I have reached the ultimate in laziness. Needed to blog and so what do I do, instead of coming up with something cute and clever and funny or newsworthy on my own, I just copied Missy's blog post. It was kinda about me and it was relevenat!! :D, so I apologize for those of you (all 2 people) that read her blog and read mine, because yes, they are the same......

I do weird things sometimes.......... I DROVE to Lebanon...........................to go on a walk.............hahahaha But I got to visit with my sister and my nephew...........so it was all good!!!! We walked 3 1/2 miles and somehow avoided the rain! yay! Good walk...........felt good................nice to visit with my sis............(and Gunner!). He was making fun of us and HE is the one that tripped and almost fell down!!!! hahahaaa
(cell phone pics are not the most flattering.......................I need some touch up work!!!!!! And it was cold and I should have taken a pic BEFORE we walked while we were still all fresh!)
