Another Glorious Weekend...

Atleast once we got there!! We had made these reservations for Diamond Lake, WAYYYY back in January. AND of course, just our luck, the ONLY Friday baseball game that was scheduled for ALL season was this weekend (atleast it was a home game). So we have our game at 6:00 P.M. and, of course, we are tied at the end of 6 innings and go into extra innings. Well we ended up winning the game, scored the winning run in the bottom of the 7th, so we were now clear to get the hell out of dodge!!

We had to run home, hook up, pick up Drake's friend (Gunner is still in Alaska) and away we went. It was a long ass drive, in the dark. It was a good thing Dylan was awake because he spotted almost every deer about 10-15 seconds before Mark. We get down to Diamond Lake area, the moon is full and well, we don't know where the hell we are going. We managed to miss BOTH places to turn and had to find a place to turn around with the trailer, not easy on that road and in the dark. Needless to say we took the long way to our campground/spot. BUT boy was it worth it. We got to our spot about 12:30 A.M., hucked all the crap out of the trailer, made the beds and went to sleep.

Woke up to a beautiful sunny saturday, this was the view from our campspot.The boys all went out fishing on Saturday and I stayed at camp to "watch" the dogs, read a book, read some magazines, read the whole week's worth of newspapers and worked on my tan....Bye Boys, have fun :DMark and Leslie each caught a 19" pluser and Dylan and Drake each caught 3 fish about 13-15" (sorry not pics, I was not in the boat and they cleaned them before I could take pictures).

After fishing the boys decided they wanted to go swimming, hey, more power to ya boys, have at it, and swimming they did. They played in the water for about 1/2 hour. Of course their lips were blue when they were done!!

Got up Sunday morning and had a good nutrious breakfast and went out fishing again. We decided Diamond Lake is a saturday fishing lake. Drake caught one, Nick caught 2 he threw back and Mark missed a big one (HEHEHE)

After fishing, the boys wanted to do paddle boats, so we went to the resort and rented them a paddle boat for an hour. I think they had fun and the view was awesome!
Other than the mosquitos, it was a good weekend and I think a good time was had by all. Of course, when just ONE of your cupboards looks like this, how can it be a bad weekend? Diet, What Diet??!!

I am currently sitting at the picnic table outside the trailer at Newport and it is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I can not believe how nice it is over here, especially after all the rain we have had recently.
This is our first camping trip of the year, kinda a spur of the moment. The kids were done with school on Thursday, we had no baseball this weekend, so why not, let's go camping.

woke up to clear blue beautiful skies, no fog. It did get a little chilly last night (boys were in the tent) but other than some wind, I can't complain.
The boys got up this morning about 5:30 and went to Waldport and went clamming, I stayed here with the dogs hehe. They ended up with about 50 steamer clams, and right now they are off surf perch fishing, so we know for sure having clams for dinner and if no fish, then we are going to town to buy oysters YUMM

It is a rough life camping, I think gunner looks a little too relaxed, had to ruin that peace and quiet after I took the pic. And of course we eat healthy when we are camping (this is a no weight watchers weekend). They are enjoying hash browns, bacon, eggs and nothing quite says breakfast like an ice cold Mtn Dew.
Went to the beach and let the kids and dogs run, had to fly the kite for awhile and then the kids got cold. The Carribean waters this is not!!

That is about all we have accomplished so far, just kicking back and enjoying the nice quiet sunshine. (I was almost asleep in the lounge chair until a damnn crow made noise) Oh well, I would have got a sunburn anyways!

Gunner's Soon to be Big Adenture....

Funny how things happen and how opportunities can present themselves. I am not sure exactly how it started (ummm, I think Margaritas were involved though), but Gunner is going to have the pleasure/privilege of driving with some friends from Oregon to Alaska. He gets to participate in the first part of "North to Alaska....The Kephart's Adventure (http://kephartsinalaska.blogspot.com/).
Nichole, who I used to work with hehe, and her husband Deven are moving to Fairbanks Alaska in about 2 weeks. They decided to drive, in their RV, with 2 dogs and now 2 teenage boys, to see the scenary. Deven asked Gunner if he wanted to......well that was like asking a little kid if they wanted candy, DUH!! He was allll over that one!He is wanting to start packing now!! Soo, we had to work on passports (and still have some details to work out), but got an email this morning, passport is processed and will be here this week. So, Nichole and Deven that was your last escape route, he is yours now, well for about 3 weeks anyways because you do have to return him to his mommy :D, I am kinda attached.

It should be alot of fun for him, it is a trip that he may not have had a chance to do otherwise. I know I am extremely jealous! and wish I was going. I hope he enjoys it and gets to see some awesome sights along the way and he better bring home ALOT of pictures! He will fly home around the middle of July, just in time for Linn County Fair, but hopefully they will have some time to do some fishing and whatever else they decide to do. (He is becoming quite the little traveler!)
Unfortunately for Drake, he is unable to make the trip, he is right in the middle of baseball and as much as he would like to go to Alaska (was he invited? :D) he has a commitment to his team. I am sure though, that he will not be deprived while his brother is gone. We have atleast 2 camping/fishing trips planned during that time.....My poor deprived kids, that never get to do anything or go anywhere!!!! YEAH RIGHT!!!

Rain, Rain go away (come back in January) I am sooooo tired of the rain, I just want it to go away. I need some warmth and sun and sand and sun and relaxing and sun, ok just need SUN. This would work (but still have 6 months to go ARGH!)

Wish I was camping, this is the first Memorial Day weekend we have been home in a LONG time. Usually we are camping or at a baseball tourney but this year we are spending a quiet weekend at home. Did get to go see Sex and the City (the movie ya pervs) w/Nichole, pretty good, liked it better than the first. Was a good day, especially the ColdStone. Mark has been getting a few honey do's done, but not all, because, really, do they ever end?

Baseball has still been pretty all consuming. Gunner is done, they ended up 12-7, not a bad record for Freshman team (he only had 3 errors all season, started all 19 games and maintained a 4.00 gpa). He is not playing this summer, so that will/should free up some time for us to go camping and fishing. Now he needs to concentrate on making sure that his pig "Chewy" makes weight for fair (took her leftover mexican today, that should make her tasty!)

Drake has started league games, so far they are 4-0 and doing awesome. He had a great game the other night, obviously they won. He had 3 throws down to 2nd base and got 2 of the 3 runners out who were trying to steal. Not to shabby for a little twig boy!!
Can't believe there is only about 8 days of school left, sooo ready for summer weather and camping and fishing and sun and bbq's and water parks, ok you get the idea, enough whining....

Wish I was here, although, the day this was taken it was about 95 degrees out, but who cares, I was cammping..........(Pretty sad, we have not even had the trailer out yet this year, but we are going in 2 weeks and have some trips planned this summer, can't wait)

Yes he was trying to drink my beer. He would come right up in our laps and eat nuts, he was evening sitting on Mark's arm and eating from his hand, he was kinda pissed though when we ran out of pistachio's.

Story of my life. It is so true,that the only thing that stays the same is change.....

Well for starters, I GOT THE QUILT DONE....here is a pic of the quilt I made for Cory and Rachelle I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. Of course, little procrastinator delivered it to the church at 1:30, wedding was at 4:00 (i had a slight hangover, more about that later). The wedding was beautiful..good job to everyone who worked on it. Here is a pic of some adorable kids all dressed up for the wedding.

Friday was gunner's last freshman baseball game, kinda bittersweet, but he looks very handsome in his uniform. Nicole had her last softball game in Lebanon so Missy and her family was there. Then Nichole, Deven ad KayDee showed up, so after the game we all went out fof dinner. Well Nichole and Deven just found that his promotion was pretty much a done deal and they were moving to Alaska. Well we had some drinks to celebrate and to make a long story short, I ended up home at 3:00 AM. Let me tell you, I am too old for that shit....(this was taken still early in the evening OY!) and yes, to quote Missy "Hell has frozen over" atleast for the evening :D

Drake starts league play this week, 1st game was tonight. Stomped Sweet Home 19-3 (Here is a link to a website that has all of drake's games and there are even stats on there http://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=lebanon_jbo, Drake is Junior American), hopefully this is the beginning of a good season.

I am sure there is more to post about, but I am getting tired and not typing so well on this little keyboard, laying in bed.....
