I think I'm Ready

For school to start anyways. All school clothes and supplies are bought, New shoes are under the bed, all registered, PHEW!! School clothes shopping was done in a marathon on Saturday. Pretty much everything we bought was on sale, but man oh man my pocketbook took a hit!! Holy Cow!! Drake is really excited for school to start, Gunner's not sure, but it won't take long for him to get in a routine. I will be glad to be back on some kind of a schedule. Although we did get the football game schedule, it is kinda depressing to see every weekend tied up until November, OY! Don't have a baseball schedule yet, oh well.

Well, I finally caved with Drake, bought him a cell phone (yes, his is even purple), WHAT WAS I THINKING!! It is soo funny to see the "newness" of it, just like a new toy....of course it won't be soo funny if he goes over his minutes on texting!!! (I have created a monster!)

About all I know, other than I am ready for a vacation and camping at the coast! I can't believe summer is almost over. Where did it go!?

Craziness!!!!

Where oh where did the summer go. I can not believe the boys start school 2 weeks from tomorrow. 2 WEEKSS!!!!! We had registration this last week, Gunner at the high school and Drake at the middle school. That was a real reality check. How did I get so old? How can I have a Freshman and a 6th grader? I don't feel that old!!! Well school does start soon and guess what?! Little Miss Procrastinator has not bought ANY school clothes yet! I better get to crackin on that. We do have supplies and backpacks (for the supplies I cleaned out a tote I had from the last several years, almost was able to complete Drake's list :D)

Along with the normal, getting ready for school craziness. Drake has started football practice. (He looks so small out there) He is playing up this year and I hope he can make weigh in every week. He is such a twig... That is 4 nights a week for 2 1/2 hours and then they both are playing fall Baseball again (at practice right now as a matter of fact). I know, I know, I said I would not do fall baseball again, BUT, all the games will be in Lebanon (YEAH, no driving to Oregon City EVERY Sunday) and they will be scheduled around football games (YEAH again!) Gunner has decided not to do any other sport this fall, although there have been many that tried to convince him to play football. he wants to concentrate on school (good boy!) Don't know schedules yet for either, other than I do know that Drake's 1st game is Sept. 9th at 5:00 P.M @ Lebanon High School.

That is about all for now. Today was a try to catch up on laundry, buy groceries and get ready for the next week kinda day. That is about all that is going on in our world, just the normal crazy kinda stuff....

Oh yeah, we did go fishing yesterday at Clear Lake and Carmen Reservoir. Both boys caught some fish. It was not as good as when Mark and I went, but they still got to catch some fish. Also, Mark did bring home a Salmom and Halibut last weekend, YUM!!! Going to the coast at the end of the month, hopefully we will get some crab, DOUBLE YUM!!!

GOOOOOODDDDD MOORRRNNNIINNNNGGG.....isn't it a glorious Saturday morning. Ok, I know a little too chipper, and I haven't even had my coffee yet! I think I just need to be hooked up to my coffee IV!!
What a busy week. The boys made it home from Missouri, but I think Drake was then gone 3 nights this week and Gunner was gone 2, HMMMMMMM. Drake had to go see one of his buddies (he did have 2 more requests, but had to turn them down, and they say girls are bad!) They spend a couple days and a night with Grandma Harrison (I believe there was a chore list involved, but hey I would have mowed the lawn on the John Deere too!) Then they spent a night with Aunt Missy, went to River Rythems, well Gunner went with the girls, have to wonder if that was really a hardship for him, I think it wasn't! Then they went to Otter Beach on Friday. Kinda cool out, but I think they had fun.
Today I really should do something constructive, we will see if I get motivated (I am supposed to be thinking about having a garage sale, but it is still the thinking stage!) Mark went fishing, in the ocean, so think happy Salmon and Halibut thoughts! It would be cool if caught some and brought them home! Tonight we have tickets for the Corvallis Knights game, I hope it doesn't rain. There is fireworks after and last year, the fireworks were awesome!!
That is pretty much my weekly update............Not much time left now until football, fall baseball and school starts >SIGH< Off to have coffee and see if it motivates me. Have a good day!

The Boys Come Home Today.....

I can't believe how fast times files!!!!! It has already been 2 1/2 weeks that the boys have been gone. They fly out of Kansas City this evening (direct flight this time :D) and get into Portland about 8:30 tonight. I have a feeling they will be two very tired boys!!!!!!!!!

We are going to enjoy our last day of peace and quiet....Since we have to head North anyways, gonna be kinda frivolouse and I think we are gonna go to Cabela's in Lacy, WA. Don't particularly need anything, of course there is always a list of wants, but it seems like a good way to kill part of a day. Plus we will be in an air conditioned car and building!!!

I have kind been a slacker and not posting much, partly it was just too darn hot this week to do anything except maybe breath!! I will have to post some pics from our camping trip last weekend at Trailbridge. It was another nice relaxing weekend!!

That's it for now, off to Cabela's and the airport (wonder if I can convince him to go to Ikea??? hmmmm......)

"Clear Lake"

What an absolutely beautiful, peaceful place to camp and visit. We spent the weekend there and it was soo nice and relaxing. The campground was full, but it was so quiet and peaceful, where are spot was, we could hear the people talking on the lake. It was a very nice, relaxing weekend. I don't remember ever staying there and my memories of the lodge area, was driving thru when there was snow on the ground. I don't really ever remember being on the lake......

Fishing was good, although I think Mark was getting tired of rowing. We probably caught between 40-50 fish on Saturday (NO JOKE!) they were average about 10 inches and all Rainbow Trout (we only kept 3). It was kinda funny, we were out Sat evening and there was a boat with 4 men, kinda seriously fishing, and here I am, as soon as my line hit the water I practically had a fish. Well, I don't touch them (or the worms), so Mark was doing something and I am flinging the fish from one side to the other trying to get it front of him so he can take it off the hook. It kept going over the side, then Mark takes it off and we just threw them back. There were a few people wishing they were catching what we were and they were keeping theirs. Kinda funny......

All and all it was a great weekend, I would definitely go back and stay there again. I think the best part was we had no cell service :D HEHEHEHE........Good Times.

Well, that is my weekend update, thinking we are gonna go try it again this weekend, another weekend of relaxing by the lake.. BTW: The boys are having a great time (not even homesick yet). Talked to Gunner yesterday he was kinda tired from spending 2 days on the lake swimming and riding Seadoo's and just being kids!!!

Holy Cow it is Quiet around here...........

Well, I am going to start by apologizing if I ramble or whatever, I have been up since 2 AM and I am really starting to drag.......

The reason I was up so early was, the boys left for their adventure to Missouri. I guess since this is the 2nd year of going back, it is the start of a tradition?! They left PDX at 6:10 A.M. and then went to Denver. There they had a connecting flight to Kansas City. It was a little hard to leave them at PDX knowing that I was not going to be there in Denver to help them. But ya know, somewhere, somehow, we have raised pretty responsible young men and there were no hiccups. There was a little turbulence, but other than that, my little travelers had no problems. (Of course they called or texted me every step of the way!!). They arrived in Kansas City about 2:30 P.M. local time, Aunt Joann was there to meet them and they were pretty darn happy. It was kinda funny though, were in Portland at the gate waiting for them to board, the boys went up, gave their boarding passes and then headed for the plane. No hugs, no kisses, no goodbyes....there was a guy standing in line that saw and looks at me, waved "Bye Mom, we'll have a good trip" and was laughing. It was kinda funny, but I guess you had to be there (Yes, ok, a Donna story, sorry, tired!!)

It is about a 4 hour drive from Kansas City to Branson area, so it was evidently preplanned to stop at Gates for BBQ ribs. Now I am gonna need to try them because I think that excited them almost more than anything about the trip.

Not sure what all they have planned. I do know that either tomorrow or Friday, they are going to Bass Pro Shop. I am just waiting for the text "Send more money to Bass Pro" and then the text that 2 1/2 weeks just is not long enough!!!!
As for Mark and I, I am sure it is wrong to celebrate, but ya know, we are going to enjoy it as well.
If anyone needs us or wants to try to find us in the next 2 plus weeks, don't bother, we are relaxin, chillin and free as the wind!!!!
