Baseball Pic......

Well Baseball summer season is winding down, neither season has gone like last year. This last weekend was our last tournament weekend (YAHOO!!). Gunner's team played in Newberg. At the last minute, the team was looking like it was going to be short a couple players, so the coach asked Drake and his buddy Walker to play. They had soo much fun. We did lose one game 1-31 (yes that is correct), but we won the game Sunday morning. Drake and Gunner both had some awesome hits on Sunday. Here is a picture of them on base, I love this pic. It won't be very often I would ever get a chance to get a pic of them both on base at the same time........
I can't believe how grown up they both look!!

"School's Out For Summer"........

Where oh where did the school year go?!! I can not believe it is the middle of June. I am officially now the mother of a Freshman and Middle School (6th grade) Child....heaven help me with the hormones and everything that comes with it. The last couple of weeks have been pretty darn hectic. We have had baseball games or practices just about every night and then we had 8th Grade graduation, Gunner was awarded a "Golden" Badmitten racket for his acheivement in Badmitten (His partner was a girl and she was really cute!) and an award in Art, go figure! Plus for Gunner we had the Junior Optimist Award a couple weeks again, where he was recognized for being Optimist of the Month. Drake had an assembly and received the President's Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellance. This award was given to 5th graders who are in the top 15%, in the state, in Math AND Reading. Not sure where the little shit got so smart, but I am very proud of both of them.......I do have pics from both, but they are on my camera and don't feel like messing with it.

Not much else going on, just baseball mostly. It should be over the 2nd week of July and then maybe we will get some camping in. Silly mom that I am, I am hoping both boys will play football, so that will give us about a month between sports. It also looks like we might be playing fall baseball again. Man I am a gluten for punishment, but I enjoy it, the boys enjoy it, so I will take it while it lasts.

I am sure there is more I can add, but don't have the energy and Since today is the only free day for about another 2+ weeks, I better get on the laundry and get some groceries bought. Have a great day!!!!!

Memorial Day/Bend Tourney

We are off to a tournament in Bend for the weekend. We play 2 games today and 2 games tomorrow for sure (Sunday morning 8 AM, I'm excited!!) We only play on Monday if we will all 4 games. We are heading over soon, looks like it will be a great weekend for baseball. Last year we were rained on and rained out of a game, doesn't look like that will happen this year.......Will post results when we get home (maybe :D)

He decided at practice one night to try being catcher. He has started every game bue one so far (he missed the game he didn't start in). This pic was at the tournament in Tigard. I was really proud of him, for never catching in a game before he did awesome.

Happy Mother's Day to one and all.....

It was a great Mother's Day/Baseball weekend. Drake's team hosted a 8 team baseball tournament here in Lebanon. There were some great plays and awesome baseball. Lebanon won both games yesterday, but unfortunately we lost both games today. Both games today though were pretty tough games and we lost only by the home team having last at bat. They were good games, real nail biters!! We ended up taking 4th, the team that took 1st, was our first loss today and they had to battle to get that win! Drake did take a ball to the leg when he was batting in the 2nd game, so he ended up not catching/playing the rest of the game. I think we counted though and in the last 2 days he caught about 20 innings, that's alot!!

The weather was great, the fields were awesome, the crowd was great (except for one team, whom we won't mention for being poor sports!) and our parents on our team are "da bomb!" Everyone came together, did what they need to do and it was a very successful weekend. Sold ALOT of hotdogs!!!

Well, I am beat, sunburned and need to read the newspaper. Happy Mother's Day, hope everyone had a good one!

Completed UFO'S -- have to show them off.....

While I was on my government paid vacation, I had posted about UFO's. Before I went back to work I had wanted to finish a couple of quilts. Partly because they needed to be done and partly because I wanted to make myself a quilt for baseball and could not start it until I finished the other one's. Here are some pics (gotta show off)....

When Angela was pregnant, she did not know if she was having a boy or a girl and bought fabric for either. She had bought enough material that I was able to make 2 blue/brown and 2 pink/brown quilts. The first pink/brown quilt she actually got when Emma was about 2 months old (that is pretty good for me!) The 2nd pink quilt, she got on Emma's 1st Birthday, here is a pic of it......
Then I had the 2 blue/brown ones, one of which I need to get to Angela so she can put it away for the next one (no, not trying to start any rumors, I don't know anything HEHEHE), here are the 2 blue/brown ones......

I feel all good about completing these and then decide I need to make my baseball quilt. I buy the material and since I need to get over my fat quarter fetish, I bought 1/2 of the fabric, WELLLL, that give me enough to make 2 quilts, SOOOOOO, I start to make 2. Drake's baseball team is hosting a tournament this weekend and we are having a raffle, so I decided to donate one of the quilts for the raffle (I hope it does well). Here is a pic of the one I am donating (the colors did not come out that great because it was dark when I took the pics)
this is the one I am keeping for myself.
They are both lap size, so perfect for cuddling (the other ones above were crib size).

Because at games I always have a blanket, snacks, camera, water, unfortunately an umbrella, I needed a bag to carry it in. I made this tote bag for me....isn't it cute!! Well, it has now been filled with "snacks" and donated to the raffle as well. I guess I need to make a new one for me!! I hope the items go well at the raffle...........and yes, I am pretty darn proud of myself.......mostly because I actually finished them and didn't add them to the UFO pile! :D
